Product description
From Italy’s Piedmont region, specifically the Barolo DOCG in Monforte d’Alba, Pio Cesare is a family-owned estate with over 140 years of winemaking tradition. Founded in 1881 by Cesare Pio, the winery is now led by the fifth generation, continuing a philosophy of classic style and respect for terroir. The Mosconi vineyard, one of Barolo’s most prestigious crus, produces Nebbiolo of exceptional depth and ageing potential.
Wine Description
This 100% Nebbiolo displays a deep garnet colour with hints of ruby at the rim. The nose is refined yet intense, offering aromas of violets, roses, and lavender intertwined with dark cherries, plums, sandalwood, cedar, and a touch of flint. On the palate, it is medium- to full-bodied, with layers of ripe dark fruit, black tea leaves, cigar box spice, and subtle mineral tones. The tannins are firm but velvety, leading into a long, elegant, and persistent finish.

Food Pairing
Ideal alongside braised beef short ribs, slow-roasted lamb shank, or wild mushroom risotto. The wine’s firm structure and savoury depth also pair beautifully with aged cheeses such as Parmigiano Reggiano. This pairing highlights the wine’s depth and character.
