Product description
Confucius Family Liquor Fu Cang 10 Year originates from Qufu in the Shandong Province of China. The Qufu Confucius Family Liquor Brewing Co. traces its heritage back to the private family mill of the Confucian Mansion, which began brewing liquor over 2,000 years ago. Historically, this spirit was considered so precious that it was reserved as an honorable liquor for emperors and high-ranking dignitaries. Today, the distillery is one of the largest in the Shandong province, maintaining over 7,200 ancient fermentation pits to preserve its "Chinese cultural liquor" status.
Description
As the flagship product of the Confucius Family range, Fu Cang 10 Year is a premium representative of the Strong Aroma (Nongxiang) style of baijiu. It is crafted using a multi-grain blend of sorghum, barley, wheat, and peas, mixed with purified water. The spirit is crystal clear and presents a marvelous, expressive nose with prominent notes of aniseed and warm, fermented tropical fruits. On the palate, it is surprisingly soft and mellow, offering delicate layers of banana, toasted rice, and subtle hints of soy sauce. It is bottled at 52% alcohol content.
