Product description

Introduction

This white wine originates from France, specifically within the Sancerre appellation in the Loire Valley. Domaine de Terres Blanches is a historic estate located in the village of Bué, now part of the Saget La Perrière family portfolio. The winery is known for its collaboration with the renowned consultant Stéphane Derenoncourt, whose team focuses on precision and highlighting the specific mineral signatures of the region's diverse soils.

Wine Description

The Domaine de Terres Blanches Sancerre Le Vallon Blanc presents a brilliant, light golden color with subtle green reflections. The nose is powerful and frank, characteristic of a high-quality single-vineyard Sauvignon Blanc. It opens with vibrant aromas of citrus fruits, white peach, and green apple, often accompanied by a distinct flinty or smoky minerality. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and well-balanced, showing a rounded, "fat" texture that is offset by a crisp, lively acidity. The finish is remarkably long and clean, leaving a lingering impression of stones and fresh zest. This wine is made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc grown on "caillottes" soil (stony limestone), which enhances its floral and mineral character. The alcohol by volume (ABV) is 13.5%.

Food Pairing

This wine is a versatile partner for a range of delicate and flavorful dishes. It is a classic match for Crottin de Chavignol goat cheese, as the wine's high acidity cuts through the creamy texture of the cheese. It also pairs exceptionally well with grilled white fish, raw oysters, and sushi. For more adventurous pairings, consider serving it with tandoori chicken or a zesty ceviche, as its mineral backbone and fruit intensity can stand up to light spice and citrus marinades.
