Product description

Schug Pinot Noir Carneros originates from the renowned Carneros region of California, a premier subregion spanning both Napa and Sonoma counties. Schug Carneros Estate Winery was founded in 1980 by Walter Schug, the pioneering founding winemaker of Joseph Phelps who helped establish the Carneros AVA in 1983. Today, the family legacy is carried forward by Walter’s children and German American winemaker Johannes Scheid, who maintains a winemaking philosophy focused on European-styled elegance and low-intervention techniques.

Wine Description

This vintage presents a bright ruby red hue and a complex sensory profile that balances ripe fruit with savory depth. The nose is dramatic and earthy, offering aromas of tilled earth, mineral tones, black tea, and wildflowers, alongside notes of cranberry cocktail and cinnamon. On the palate, the wine is medium bodied and lush, featuring juicy layers of black cherry, plum, raspberry, and forest floor. A refreshing spine of ripe acidity and fine, silky tannins provide an elegant structure that leads into a long, flavorful finish marked by hints of spice and new leather.
