Product description

This elegant red wine hails from France, specifically the Haut Medoc region on the Left Bank of the Gironde estuary. The estate traces its winemaking history back to 1824, with its striking Renaissance-style château constructed in 1854. Today, it is co-owned by the Castel Group and the Japanese company Suntory under the 'Grands Millésimes de France' umbrella, the same group behind the celebrated Château Beychevelle. The winery's philosophy blends Médoc tradition with technical innovation, practicing sustainable viticulture since 2004 with Terra Vitis certification to produce high-quality grapes with deep respect for the environment.

Wine Description

The 2022 Chateau Beaumont is deep garnet-purple in colour with an impressive, powerful bouquet. The nose is fragrant and open, bursting with aromas of cassis, black cherries, mulberries, and plum preserves, layered with delicate notes of violets, menthol, cardamom, and a touch of smoky cedar. On the palate, this medium-bodied wine is richly textured and concentrated, offering a juicy core of blackcurrant and red berry fruit.

The varietal composition for this vintage features a higher than normal proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon at 65%, complemented by 30% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot. Stylistically, it is balanced and fresh, supported by firm yet ripe, velvety tannins and a distinct mineral, graphite-infused structure. The finish is savory and cohesive with outstanding length. This wine is approachable in its youth starting around 2026, with an optimal drinking window extending through 2036.
