Product description
Giffard is a family owned and operated business located in the Loire Valley in France. The company was established in 1885 by Emile Giffard, a pharmacist with a curious and inventive nature. Inspired by the intense summer heat, he created a clear mint liqueur to cool and refresh his clientele. Today, the family continues his tradition of macerating and distilling fruits, herbs, and spices to naturally flavour their products.
Description Giffard's 'Crème de Violette' is a natural fruit liqueur made from an infusion of violet flowers and extracts of violet leaves. The liqueur has a clear, deep purple colour with slight garnet shades and a bright appearance. On the nose, it offers an intensely floral, spring aroma with notes of violet, rose, candied violets, and a hint of vanilla and wintergreen. The palate is very aromatic, sweet, and smooth, with pronounced violet flavours and notes of lavender and rose. It has a silky and viscous texture, a gentle citrus acidity, and a long, floral finish. The name 'crème' refers to its syrupy texture and high sugar content, not the presence of cream, making the liqueur entirely vegan friendly.
