Product description

Introduction

Pabst Blue Ribbon, originally established in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States, is produced under license in Canada by Sleeman Breweries in Guelph, Ontario. The brewery was founded in 1844 by Jacob Best and was later significantly expanded by Frederick Pabst, who helped it become one of the largest brewing companies in the nation. In Canada, the brand continues its long history as a flagship premium lager known for its classic blue ribbon branding.

Beer Description

This American style lager is pale golden in colour and topped with a delicate white foam. The aroma is characterized by gentle malt scents featuring notes of banana and pear fruit alongside a subtle hop fragrance. On the palate, it offers a light, crisp taste with a hint of malt sweetness and a clean flavour profile including notes of cereal. The body is medium to light and finishes smoothly without a bitter aftertaste, resulting in a refreshing and easy drinking experience. The brew is crafted using a combination of six row barley, 100% Copeland malt, and a blend of North American hops with European varieties. It has an ABV of 4.9%.

Food Pairing

The crisp and refreshing nature of this lager makes it an ideal companion for a variety of casual and savoury dishes. It pairs exceptionally well with classic pub fare such as burgers, hot dogs, and buffalo wings, where its clean finish helps balance rich or fried flavours. Its light profile also complements spicy foods, including Mexican street tacos or spicy noodles, by providing a cooling sensation. Additionally, it can be served alongside lighter meals like garden salads or fresh seafood, particularly fried fish.
