Product description
Introduction
This rosé wine originates from Italy, specifically from the Rubicone IGT area within the Emilia-Romagna region. Founded in 1964 by Umberto Cesari in the hills of Castel San Pietro Terme, the winery was among the first to champion the potential of Sangiovese in this territory. The winery's philosophy combines a deep respect for local tradition and the environment with the use of modern technology to produce high-quality wines that reflect their regional identity. Costa Di Rose is designed as a contemporary interpretation of Sangiovese, intended to showcase the variety's multifaceted personality through a fresh and refined lens.
Wine Description
Umberto Cesari Costa Di Rose displays a brilliant antique rose colour with silky highlights. The nose is delicate and fragrant, offering a bouquet of wild strawberries, raspberries, and cherries layered with notes of pomegranate, sweet violets, and a subtle hint of poppy. On the palate, the wine is crisp, linear, and remarkably fresh, featuring vibrant acidity and a pleasant savouriness. It is characterized by its long-lingering, aromatic fruitiness and a classic Sangiovese touch of dried plum on the finish. This 100% Sangiovese is produced from vineyards with an average age of 10 years, undergoes low-temperature fermentation, and matures for 6 months in stainless steel tanks to preserve its purity of fruit. The ABV is 12.5%, and while the winery emphasizes sustainable viticulture, the wine is not certified organic. The optimal drinking window is from release through three to five years.
