Clase Azul Tequila Collection
Artisanal Luxury & Mexican Heritage: Experience World-Class 100% Blue Weber Agave Spirits Presented in Handcrafted Ceramic Decanters.
An Embodiment of Mexican Artistry and Luxury Spirits
Founded in 1997 by Arturo Lomelí,Clase Azul México has redefined luxury tequila globally. Born in Jalisco, Mexico, the brand bridges centuries-old agave cultivation with high craftsmanship, creating ultra-premium tequilas and mezcals that serve as a living tribute to Mexican culture and heritage.
Clase Azul is renowned as much for its velvety liquid as for its iconic, hand-painted ceramic decanters. Crafted in the small town of Santa María Canchesda by local artisans—many belonging to the indigenous Mazahua community—each decanter requires up to two weeks to sculpt, glaze, and hand-paint, ensuring no two bottles in the world are identical.
Highland Agave Terroir & Time-Honored Production
The secret behind Clase Azul’s signature sweetness and silkiness lies in its unhurried, artisanal production process:
-
High-Altitude Agave: 100% Blue Weber agave is grown in the mineral-rich, red volcanic soils of Los Altos de Jalisco (The Highlands of Jalisco). Harvested only after maturing for 6 to 8 years, the high elevation produces agave piñas rich in natural sugars.
-
Brick Oven Slow-Cooking: The agave piñas are slow-cooked in traditional stone brick ovens (hornos) for 72 hours, unlocking deep, rich caramelization and natural agave sweetness.
-
Proprietary Fermentation & Copper Distillation: Fermented with a proprietary yeast strain and double-distilled in traditional copper pot stills, creating a clean, full-bodied spirit.
The Signature Spirits Portfolio
-
Clase Azul Plata: The unaged expression of pure agave character. Crystal clear with bright aromas of fresh citrus, cooked agave, and white pepper, leading to a smooth, crisp, and mineral-driven finish.
-
Clase Azul Reposado: The flagship masterpiece. Aged for 8 months in select American whiskey barrels, it delivers a golden hue and a complex palate of vanilla, toasted hazelnut, caramel, cinnamon, and subtle agave spice.
-
Clase Azul Gold: A rare luxury blend combining Clase Azul Plata with a special Extra Añejo aged in French oak casks and finished in sherry casks, offering soft notes of toasted oak, dried fruit, and fig.
-
Clase Azul Añejo: Aged for 25 months in seasoned oak barrels. Deep amber in color with aromas of dark chocolate, roasted coffee beans, dried plums, and toasted oak, wrapped in a lush, full-bodied mouthfeel.
-
Clase Azul Ultra (Extra Añejo): The crown jewel of the portfolio. Aged for 5 years in sherry and whiskey casks, this ultra-rare extra añejo displays a dark mahogany tone and complex layers of dried cherries, honey, toasted almonds, and cocoa.
-
Clase Azul Mezcal Series (Durango & Guerrero): Crafted from wild agave varieties (such as Cenizo or Papalote) using traditional artisanal pit-roasting, offering floral elegance, delicate smoke, citrus zest, and earthy minerality.
Epicurean Food Pairings
-
Clase Azul Plata: Fresh ceviche, grilled prawns with lime and cilantro, goat cheese crostini, and oysters on the half shell.
-
Clase Azul Reposado: Traditional Mole Poblano, roasted pork tenderloin, braised short ribs, aged manchego, and flan or vanilla bean ice cream.
-
Clase Azul Añejo & Ultra: Artisanal dark chocolates, prime dry-aged steaks, blue cheese, or savored neat as a digestif alongside a premium mild-to-medium Cuban or Dominican cigar.
