I. The Burgundian Cradle: Maison Joseph Drouhin

Founded in Beaune in 1880, Maison Joseph Drouhin is one of Burgundy’s most respected historic estates. With deep subterranean cellars running beneath the ancient Palace of the Dukes of Burgundy and the Kings of France, the estate manages some of the region's most prized vineyards:

• Clos des Mouches: A legendary Premier Cru in Beaune purchased by the family in the 19th century. It produces both exceptional, mineral-rich whites and silky, perfumed reds.

• Drouhin-Vaudon (Chablis): Centered around an 18th-century watermill in Chablis, this brand captures the chiseled, mineral, and oyster-shell core of northern Chardonnay.

• A Commitment to Organic and Biodynamic Farming: Guided by viticulturist Philippe Drouhin, the entire Burgundy estate shifted entirely to organic and biodynamic practices, obtaining official organic certification in 2009.

II. The American Frontier: Domaine Drouhin Oregon & Roserock

In 1987, third-generation patriarch Robert Drouhin bought land in the Dundee Hills of the Willamette Valley. Guided by winemaker Véronique Boss-Drouhin ("The Guardian of the Drouhin Palate"), the family set out to prove that Oregon could produce cool-climate Pinot Noir and Chardonnay with the same aging potential and structural elegance as Burgundy.

• Dundee Hills (DDO): Situated on the iron-rich, red volcanic clay (Jory) soils of Dundee, these wines are famously charming, silky, and perfumed with notes of bright raspberry and sweet spices.

• Roserock (Eola-Amity Hills): Acquired by the family in 2013. Sitting in a slightly cooler, wind-swept corridor, Roserock yields wines of intense structural focus, dark fruit depth, and refreshing acidity—often compared to the difference between Chambolle-Musigny and Gevrey-Chambertin.

• Gravity-Fed Precision: The Dundee Hills winery was built in 1989 as a four-level gravity-flow facility, protecting the delicate aromatics of Pinot Noir by eliminating mechanical pumping.
