Product description
This item is an alcohol-free wheat beer that originates from Germany, specifically the town of Erding in Bavaria. Erdinger is a private brewery that traces its origins back to 1886. The brewery's current owner, Werner Brombach, is a pioneer in the industry who developed the company into the global market leader in wheat beer. The brewery operates with an uncompromising philosophy of quality, tradition, and consistency, brewing all its beers exclusively in Erding in strict compliance with the Bavarian Purity Law (Reinheitsgebot). The 'Alkoholfrei' was a major market innovation, bravely positioned as an isotonic thirst-quencher for athletes, and it soon established itself as the leader in the non-alcoholic segment in Germany.
This non-alcoholic wheat beer has an ABV of less than 0.5%, and is brewed exclusively from natural ingredients. The varietal composition includes water, wheat malt, barley malt, hops, and yeast.
The visual profile is a hazy amber or cloudy-gold colour with a frothy white head typical of Bavarian wheat beers. The aroma offers spicy malt notes that harmonize with caramel-sweet nuances, alongside hints of green apple, unripe banana, fresh bread, and citrus zest.
On the palate, it has a full-bodied and refreshing taste, balancing a gentle malt sweetness with the stimulating bitterness of aroma hops. It has a smooth carbonation and lively mouthfeel, with a hint of light, fruity acidity. The beer is also isotonic, providing the body with valuable ingredients, including Vitamins B12 and folic acid. The finish is clean and refreshing. This is a low-calorie drink, with just 125 kcal per 500 ml bottle.
