Product description

This rose originates from Italy, specifically the Veneto region near the southern shores of Lake Garda. Crafted by the renowned Zenato family estate, which was founded in 1960 by Sergio Zenato, this wine comes from their historic San Benedetto property. While the family is globally famous for their rich Amarone and crisp white Lugana, this bottling showcases their ability to make a modern, high-quality pink wine from an unusual and clever blend of local and international grape varieties.

Wine Description

The Zenato Rose San Benedetto is a vibrant, clean, and highly expressive rose designed for pure drinking pleasure.

  • Appearance: A beautiful, clear pale pink with brilliant reflections in the glass.

  • Nose: Wonderfully fresh and lively, it opens with a fragrant bouquet of wild berries, sweet meadow flowers, and ripe red apples. Subtle herbal undertones like kitchen herbs and sage add a sophisticated layer.

  • Palate: On the palate, the wine is juicy, round, and remarkably harmonious. It features a pronounced core of fresh red fruits, specifically ripe strawberries, raspberries, and juicy watermelon. It strikes a great balance between a soft, smooth texture and a vital, crisp fruit acidity that keeps the mouthfeel incredibly lively, leading to a clean, thirst-quenching finish.

  • Technical Details: An interesting and unique blend of Rondinella, Pinot Nero (Pinot Noir), and Cabernet Franc. It is vinified entirely in stainless steel to capture the maximum freshness of the fruit. The alcohol content is a well-balanced 12.5% ABV.

Food Pairing

The natural weight from the Rondinella and Cabernet Franc gives this rose the structure to pair beautifully with a variety of light summer meals. It is a fantastic match for spinach salads topped with sliced strawberries and goat cheese, grilled white fish, or chicken skewers. Thanks to its lively acidity, it also pairs excellently with fried appetizers like vegetable tempura, cured Italian meats like prosciutto, or soft cheeses like Brie and Camembert.
