Rosebank Distillery, often hailed as the "King of the Lowlands," has a storied history dating back to the 19th century. After ceasing production in 1993, the distillery was revived by Ian Macleod Distillers, culminating in the release of the 32-Year-Old Legacy Release Three in 2023. This remarkable whisky serves as a testament to the distillery’s heritage and its triumphant return to prominence.
This exceptional single malt Scotch whisky, distilled in 1990, showcases Rosebank's signature triple-distilled character. It presents a pale gold hue, with a nose offering sweet aromas of pineapple and candied ginger mingling with lemon and marzipan, accompanied by hints of white pepper and café latte. The palate is velvety, featuring notes of malt, thyme, butterscotch, tropical fruits, drying oak, and softly warming spice. The finish is soft and long, with notes of lemon, honeyed porridge, and toasted walnut.
This whisky pairs beautifully with dishes such as seared scallops, creamy risotto, or mild cheeses, enhancing the whisky's depth and creating an unforgettable dining experience.
The 2023 release of this 32-year-old expression marks a significant milestone in Rosebank's revival, offering enthusiasts a rare opportunity to experience the distillery's classic Lowland style. It is the oldest in the series and a celebration of Rosebank's craftsmanship and legacy.
