Product description
Château Montus is often referred to as 'The Cathedral of Tannat' and has been nicknamed the 'Petrus of the Southwest' by some critics. Winemaker Alain Brumont is credited with single-handedly proving that world-class wines could be made in the Madiran appellation.
Wine Description
The wine presents a dense, dark ruby colour with purple reflections. The complex aroma offers notes of dark plums, mulberries, blackcurrant, and blackberries, accented by hints of peppercorns, dried herbs, sweet spices, and a touch of leather. On the palate, the wine is rich and generous, displaying concentrated dark black fruits, a massive structure, and a deep tannic profile.
Food Pairing
This full-bodied wine is an excellent match for rich, full-flavoured dishes. Suggested pairings include grilled steak, roast beef, rack of lamb, or traditional French dishes like duck confit and cassoulet.
