Product description

Introduction

Produced in the United States, this wine is a distinct Californian blend that sources fruit from three premier counties: Monterey, Santa Barbara, and Napa. The Cherry Pie winery was founded in 2008 by visionary winemaker Jayson Woodbridge, also known for Hundred Acre and Layer Cake. The brand's name and iconic label were inspired by an oil painting by artist TR Colletta, which Woodbridge felt perfectly captured the rich, approachable, and 'all-American' style of Pinot Noir he aimed to create.

Wine Description

The Cherry Pie Three Counties Pinot Noir presents a classic burgundy colour in the glass. The aromatic profile is concentrated, leaping from the glass with scents of macerated cherries, cranberries, and dark oolong tea, accented by sweet toasty oak and a hint of blueberry. On the palate, the wine offers a juicy 'attack' of Bing cherries and raspberries, supported by a delicate frame of tightly woven tannins and lifting acidity. Stylistically, it is a medium-bodied red that balances rich fruit intensity with subtle notes of baking spices and dried herbs. The experience concludes with a long, silky smooth finish. While vibrant and approachable now, it is generally intended for consumption within three to five years of its vintage.
