Product description
The Cheverny appellation stretches from Sologne to the outskirts of Orleans along the Loire's left bank. The castle of Cheverny, built in the style of Louis X111, is its icon. The Delaille family has owned Domaine Salvard since the 1890s, with the current generation masterfully maintaining their 30 hectares through a programme of conscientious (a.k.a. semi-organic) vineyard management.
Wine Description
A pale lemon-yellow in the glass. Delicate, fragrant aromas of citrus fruits, green orchard fruits and hazelnuts. On the palate, dry yet expansive with a reasonably full body. The flavors are clean and refreshing leading to an aromatic finish. The balance between the zesty Sauvignon and the rounder Chardonnay works very well.
Food Pairing
Drink with crayfish with strips of Dover sole in a saffron sauce, chicken piccata or asparagus mousse.
