Wine Description
The 'Calabrise' is a modern expression of its native red variety. It is made from 100% Calabrese grapes, which is a local name for what is often known as Nero d'Avola, grown on sandy and limestone soils. The wine is dark red in colour with bright purple hues. On the nose, it presents complex aromas of red fruits, black cherries, and plums layered with black pepper and a subtle savoury edge. The palate is fresh, juicy, and pulpy, echoing the ripe red and dark fruit with a gentle spice note and a touch of earth. It has very smooth and caressing tannins, a medium to medium-plus body, and a clean, persistent finish that lingers with dark berries and peppery spice. Fermentation and ageing take place for seven months in stainless steel tanks, avoiding oak influence to preserve the purity of the fruit.
Varietal Composition: 100% Calabrese (Nero d'Avola)
Optimal Drinking Window: Enjoy now (as it balances ripe fruit with ease of drinking)
Organic: The estate is committed to sustainable farming and winemaking methods
