J. Lohr Vineyards & Wines was founded by Jerry Lohr, who, drawing on his agricultural roots, began an extensive search for ideal California grape-growing regions in the late 1960s. He pioneered premium winegrowing on the Central Coast, first planting in Monterey County in the early 1970s before recognizing Paso Robles' potential for Bordeaux varieties like Cabernet Sauvignon in the 1980s. The winery's philosophy centres on crafting vineyard-driven wines that are the finest examples of quality and flavour from their given appellations, utilizing sustainably farmed estate fruit.

Wine Description

This Cabernet Sauvignon blend is deep in colour and offers a sensory profile of complex dark fruit and spice. The aroma displays 'blackberry and blueberry compote aromas garnished with crushed violet, cracked pepper, and black tea'. On the palate, expect 'plump fruit' and 'juicy layers of black and red currants'. It is full-bodied and has 'fine-grained tannins' which lead to a bright finish accented by pastry notes from the 16 months of aging in French oak.
