Mendel Winery embodies the union of Roberto de la Mota, one of Argentina's most respected and experienced winemakers, with a nearly century-old Argentine family, whose sole objective is to produce wine of unquestionable, superior quality that express the character of their very old Malbec and Cabernet vineyards in Lujan de Cuyo, Mendoza, Argentina. Mendel is the first name of the owner's father, a man who came to Argentina with nothing and ended up a successful businessman in different industries.
Wine Description
This wine is a deep, intense, bright red with a violet rim. The aroma is complex and intense, offering a perfect combination of fresh red fruits, such as black cherries, raspberries, and blackberries, alongside floral accents of violet. Delicate notes of sweet French oak, espresso, liquorice, vanilla, and caramel add further complexity. The palate is full-bodied, dense, deep, and chewy, showcasing flavours of black raspberry, plums, and roasted herbs, with a silky, velvety mouth-feel.

Classic pairings include a nice ribeye steak or leg of lamb, which complement the wine's dark fruit and spice notes. It also pairs beautifully with aged cheeses like Cheddar or Gouda, as well as grilled vegetables.
