Product description
Introduction
Pieropan Soave Calvarino is an organic white wine from the Soave Classico DOC in the Veneto region of northeastern Italy. Established in the 1890s by Leonildo Pieropan, the estate is a pioneer in the region and was the first to use the 'Soave' name on its labels. The Calvarino vineyard, acquired in 1901, is the oldest family plot and is situated on volcanic, basalt-rich soils that are notoriously difficult to work, earning it the name 'little calvary'.
Wine Description
This wine presents a brilliant pale straw-yellow colour with greenish reflections in its youth. The sensory profile is fresh and complex, featuring an aromatic bouquet of elderflower, almond blossom, marzipan, and lemon, with additional hints of pear and white peach. On the palate, it is dry, well-balanced, and elegant, showing a silky texture and a distinct smoky, flinty minerality. The structure is enhanced by a zesty acidity that leads to a long, saline finish.
