Product description

Founded in 2005, Pietradolce is a boutique estate located on the northern slopes of Mount Etna in Sicily, Italy. Owned by the Faro family, the winery is dedicated to preserving the heritage of old-vine Nerello Mascalese grown in the region's unique volcanic soils. Their vineyards, particularly in Contrada Rampante at high elevation (approx. 850 m), are home to pre-phylloxera bush-trained vines, some over 90 years old, embodying the essence of Etna’s winemaking tradition.

This 100% Nerello Mascalese is a striking expression of its volcanic terroir. Ruby-garnet in colour, it opens with lifted aromas of wild red berries, dried herbs, violets, and flinty minerality. The palate is refined and layered, offering notes of red cherry, raspberry, dried rose petals, and earthy spice, framed by vibrant acidity and firm yet silky tannins.

Food Pairing
This elegant Etna Rosso pairs beautifully with grilled lamb chops, wild mushroom risotto, or eggplant parmigiana. The wine’s tension and minerality complement savoury dishes, while its floral and red fruit notes balance earthy, umami-rich ingredients.
