Product description

Poliziano began in 1961 when Dino Carletti, driven by a romantic vision for his native land, acquired the first parcel of land in the Montepulciano area of Italy. The estate is located in Tuscany, Italy, just south of the historic old town of Montepulciano. The winery, now run by Dino's son, Federico Carletti, is named as a tribute to the renowned native poet, Angelo Ambrogini. Federico's winemaking philosophy focuses on quality viticulture, being innovative yet respectful of tradition and the environment.

Wine Description

It presents a medium ruby colour in the glass. The sensory profile is complex yet vibrant, offering a lovely mix of wild strawberries, violets, lavender, and wet stones. Richer aromas of red cherry, sour cherry, raspberry, and gooseberry are also noted, framed by subtle hints of spice, clove, and cedar. On the palate, the wine is juicy in style and remarkably pure, with vivid cherry-berry fruit notes that flow across a stream of fresh acidity.

Food Pairing

Suggested pairings include traditional Tuscan dishes, and it is excellent for convivial dinners. It pairs well with pasta dishes featuring tomato or meat ragù, especially spaghetti and meatballs. The wine is also an excellent match for roasted poultry like roast chicken with rosemary and garlic, grilled tuna or salmon with herbs, lamb chops, or beef burgers with caramelised onions.
