Founded in 1972 by Aldo and Milena Vajra, the winery is family-owned and renowned for its traditional yet innovative approach. With vineyards at some of the highest elevations in Barolo, Vajra produces wines of remarkable elegance, precision, and aromatic purity.
Wine Description
This 100% Nebbiolo shows a brilliant garnet colour. On the nose, it opens with delicate aromas of rose petals, violets, red cherry, raspberry, and orange zest, layered with hints of spice, balsamic herbs, and subtle tobacco. The palate is vibrant and energetic, delivering flavours of fresh red fruit, crushed flowers, and savoury undertones. Fine, velvety tannins are balanced by lively acidity, giving the wine a refined structure and long, graceful finish.
Food Pairing
This Barolo pairs beautifully with braised meats, roasted lamb, or hearty pasta dishes in rich tomato or mushroom sauces. It also complements aged cheeses such as Parmigiano Reggiano.
