Vicchiomaggio Ripa Delle More originates from the Greve in Chianti subregion of Tuscany, Italy. The wine is produced by Castello Vicchiomaggio, a historic estate spanning 140 hectares that has been meticulously managed by the Matta family. Their winemaking philosophy focuses on a dedication to tradition and the expression of their unique Mediterranean climate and south-facing vineyards.
Wine Description
This Super Tuscan presents an impenetrable ruby red colour with a violet rim. The intense bouquet offers an ample profile of mint, blackcurrant, and blueberry, layered with dark chocolate, juniper, and toasted coffee. On the palate, the wine is full, enveloping, and vigorous, featuring silky, polished tannins and a long-lasting finish.
Food Pairing
This wine pairs exceptionally well with grilled meats, particularly roast lamb seasoned with rosemary or a classic Bistecca alla Fiorentina. It also complements rich, tomato-based dishes such as wild boar ragu served over pappardelle.
