Zenato Wines
Zenato is a family-owned winery in the Veneto region of Italy, renowned for its dedication to crafting high-quality wines that reflect the unique terroir of Lake Garda and Valpolicella. Founded in 1960 by Sergio Zenato, the winery has built a reputation for excellence, blending tradition with innovation to produce wines of remarkable depth and character. Today, Zenato remains under the leadership of Sergio’s wife, Carla, and their children, Alberto and Nadia, who continue to uphold the family’s commitment to quality and authenticity.
At the heart of Zenato’s philosophy is a deep respect for the land and a belief that great wines begin in the vineyard. The estate spans over 95 hectares, with vineyards in two key areas: Lugana, where the family pioneered the cultivation of Trebbiano di Lugana, and Valpolicella, home to their prestigious Amarone. Sustainable viticulture is a cornerstone of their approach, ensuring that each bottle expresses the character of the region while maintaining harmony with nature.
Zenato’s portfolio includes an impressive range of wines, from the fresh and mineral-driven Lugana wines to the powerful and age-worthy Amarone della Valpolicella. Their signature Amarone is crafted using the traditional appassimento method, where grapes are dried before fermentation to concentrate flavors, resulting in a rich, velvety wine with layers of complexity. Other highlights include their Ripassa Valpolicella Superiore, a refined, full-bodied wine made using the ripasso technique, and their Soave, Bardolino, and Merlot-based blends that showcase Veneto’s diversity.
With a legacy of passion, craftsmanship, and innovation, Zenato continues to be a benchmark producer in northern Italy, offering wines that beautifully capture the essence of their origins while appealing to wine lovers around the world.
