Attems, a historic winery in Italy's Friuli-Venezia Giulia region, has been producing wines since 1106. The estate spans 110 acres of south-facing terraced slopes, benefiting from diverse soils and a favorable climate, ideal for cultivating Sauvignon Blanc.
The 2023 Attems Sauvignon Blanc displays a soft, lustrous straw-yellow color. On the nose, it offers captivating aromas of boxwood, lily of the valley, and pomelo. The palate is light and smooth, featuring notes of citrus, Fuji apple, and a pronounced salty finish, particularly notable in this vintage. The wine was fermented in stainless steel tanks at 18–20 °C for 15 days and aged on the noble lees for four months, enhancing its complexity and texture.
This Sauvignon Blanc pairs wonderfully with chilled shrimp, creamy cheeses, calamari, rustic breads, and vegetable dips.
