Balvenie 25 Year Old

The Balvenie Distillery is a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky distillery located in Dufftown, Scotland, owned by William Grant & Sons. It was founded in 1892 by William J. Grant, who also founded the Glenfiddich distillery. The distillery is one of the few in Scotland that still performs all five of the 'Rare Crafts' on site, including growing its own barley, malting barley, and having its own coppersmiths and coopers.

Description

The Balvenie 25 Year Old is part of the 'Rare Marriages' range, which showcases whiskies from a selection of individual European and American oak casks that are married together in a tun. The result is a whisky with extraordinary depth and a perfect balance to create an elegantly fruity expression. On the nose, it presents soft autumn fruits, runny honey, crystallized ginger, and raw cane sugar, with a rich oakiness providing complexity and structure. The palate features bold vanilla oak flavours that give way to layers of toasted marshmallows, fresh fruit terrine, and cinnamon-infused apple tart. The finish is exceptionally long and sweet. The whisky is bottled at 48% ABV.
