Product description
Chateau Lagrange is a historic Third Growth estate situated in the Saint Julien appellation of Bordeaux, France. The property dates back to the 17th century and is currently owned by the Japanese Suntory Group, which has invested significantly in modernizing the vineyard and cellar since acquiring it in 1983. With a meticulous focus on vineyard management and vinification, Chateau Lagrange continues to be a benchmark for balanced, classically styled Saint Julien wines.
Wine Description
The 2022 Chateau Lagrange is a blend of approximately 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Merlot, and 2% Petit Verdot, reflecting the estate's Cabernet-dominant identity. In the glass, it displays a deep, garnet-purple colour. The nose is expressive and elegant, offering layered aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, violet, cedar, and subtle graphite. Hints of spice and mocha emerge with aeration, adding complexity.
On the palate, this is a full-bodied, structured wine, with ripe yet polished tannins and a vibrant core of dark fruit flavours. Notes of cassis, plum, and dark cherry are complemented by savoury nuances of tobacco and mineral. The wine carries through to a long, precise finish that showcases freshness and finesse, underscoring the estate’s refined style.

Food Pairing
This Saint Julien is beautifully suited to classic French dishes such as roasted lamb with rosemary or duck breast with cherry sauce. Aged cheeses, especially Comté or aged cheddar, will also complement its structure and dark fruit profile. Together, they create an unforgettable dining experience.
