Introduction
Dr Zenzen Pinot Grigio is a non alcoholic white wine produced in Germany. The house of Dr Zenzen has a historic legacy as wine growers dating back to 1636, representing a family tradition of more than 380 years. This 13th generation family owned company produces wine in the hills above the river Mosel, specifically in the picturesque village of Valwig.
Spirit Description
This non alcoholic Pinot Grigio presents a straw yellow appearance and is medium bodied on the palate. The nose is fresh and crisp, featuring a bouquet of lemon and lime with distinct hints of peach and apricots. On the palate, it is well balanced and fruity, offering the characteristic flavours of citrus and stone fruit typical of the varietal. The finish is dry and refreshing, maintaining the finesse of a traditional white wine without the alcohol. This beverage contains 0.0% alcohol by volume.
Food Pairing
The fresh acidity and fruity structure of this wine make it a versatile partner for many different types of cuisine. It pairs particularly well with light proteins such as chicken and various types of seafood. For casual dining, it is an excellent accompaniment to pizza or spicy pasta dishes, as its crispness balances richer or more piquant flavours. It is also suitable as a general purpose white wine for virtually any social occasion.
Distinctive Features
Dr Zenzen Pinot Grigio is distinguished by its expert dealcoholization process, which aims to preserve the traditional characteristics of the Pinot Grigio grape. It is produced from grapes grown in the Rheinpfalz appellation of Germany, a region known for its high quality viticulture. This wine is a mindful choice for health conscious consumers as it is gluten free and contains significantly fewer calories than its alcoholic counterparts. The bottle is typically finished with a Stelvin closure to ensure the fresh fruit aromas are perfectly preserved.
Serving Suggestions
To enjoy the full range of its citrus and stone fruit notes, this wine should always be served chilled. It is best presented in a standard white wine glass, which helps to concentrate the delicate floral and fruit aromas. Given its refreshing and crisp nature, it serves as an ideal aperitif or a sophisticated alcohol free alternative for summer gatherings and brunch.
