Promis, a name derived from the Italian word "promessa," meaning promise, is a red blend that embodies the Gaja family's commitment to excellence. The 2021 vintage is composed of 55% Merlot, 35% Syrah, and 10% Sangiovese, sourced from vineyards in Bolgheri and the neighboring area of Bibbona, primarily planted on dark soils rich in lime and clay.
This wine presents a deep ruby color and offers aromas of ripe red and black fruits, complemented by subtle notes of spices and herbs. On the palate, it is full-bodied with a harmonious balance of acidity and tannins, leading to a long, elegant finish. Each varietal is fermented and matured separately in oak barrels for up to one year before the final blend, enhancing its complexity and depth.
