Product description
From the heart of Speyside, Glenfarclas stands as one of Scotland’s few remaining family-owned distilleries, run by the Grant family since 1865. Known for its steadfast commitment to traditional methods, Glenfarclas crafts whiskies with remarkable depth, complexity, and a rich sherried character. The Family Casks range, launched in 2007, showcases single casks from nearly every year since 1952, offering an unparalleled glimpse into the distillery’s heritage and style.
Distilled in 2000 and bottled in 2024 from Cask No. 3287, this rare release is limited to just 610 bottles worldwide. Presented at its natural cask strength of 51.8% ABV, it reveals a deep mahogany colour. The nose opens with layers of dried fig, polished wood, and orange marmalade, underpinned by the inviting scent of pipe tobacco. The palate is rich and full-bodied, delivering dark chocolate, stewed fruits, molasses, walnut cake, and warming spices, with subtle leather tones adding complexity. The long, elegant finish lingers with sherried fruit, nutmeg, and toasted oak, while a splash of water softens the edges to reveal hints of vanilla and dried citrus.
This vintage exemplifies balance and intensity, reflecting both the quality of the cask and the skill of the Glenfarclas team. Best enjoyed neat to savour its full character, it also pairs beautifully with dishes such as roast duck, venison in a berry reduction, or mature blue cheese, creating an unforgettable dining experience.
