Glengoyne Highland Single Malt 18 Year Old

Product description

"Every winter, the hill behind out distillery becomes a beacon for migrating flocks of geese, which is why our home on the Highland border is known as The Glen of The Geese or, in Gaelic, Glen Guin. But our guests have inspired more than just our whisky's name. In a world that seems to spin faster every day, we're proud to be the slowest whisky distiller in Scotland.

In the stillness of our quiet glen, we know that patience is rewarded. Nothing is rushed and every stage of our whisky making process is given as long as it needs. Uniquely-shaped stills nurse the simmering wash during the longest distillation of any Scottish whisky, prolonged contact with the copper coaxing sweet and fruity notes from the gently rolling vapours. That's why our barley is only ever dried by air, allowing the true Glengoyne spirit to shine through.

From here the precious spirit is transferred to casks made to order from European and American oak, themselves prepared for six years before they're ready to carry our whisky to maturity. The natural colour of the whisky is testament to decades within the wood alone. Nothing else is added, this is how we craft a whisky unlike any other. This is the Glengoyne way."

The Glengoyne 18 Year Old    Introduced in 2012, Glengoyne 18 Year Old was revamped to replace the Glengoyne 17 Year Old. From the Highlands of Scotland, this single malt is matured in a mix of refill sherry casks and a generous portion of first-fill sherry casks. The packaging shows off the stunning golden tone and inviting glow imparted by the lengthy maturation. This is a wonderfully warming whisky for sure and an essential for any sherried whisky fan.  Spicy vanilla fruit, ripe apples and a rich, luxurious mouthfeel. This is the result of eighteen long years and a generous proportion of first-fill sherry casks.
