Product description

National Cellar 1573 Spirit of China originates from Luzhou in the Sichuan Province of China. The Luzhou Laojiao Distillery dates back to 1573 during the Ming Dynasty and is recognized as the oldest continuously producing baijiu distillery in the world. This commemorative spirit is crafted within the 'National Treasures Cellars', which were built in 1573 and have remained in continuous use for over 450 years. The distillery is a state-owned enterprise and its traditional brewing techniques are honored as part of China's National Intangible Cultural Heritage.

Description

This ultra-premium baijiu is colourless and transparent, representing the pinnacle of the strong aroma (Nongxiang) style. The nose is floral and surprisingly mellow, offering inviting scents of white peach, grilled pineapple, honey, and pine resin. On the palate, it delivers a velvety mouthfeel with a pure and intense burst of candied sweetness, complemented by umami notes of liquorice, sesame, and seaweed. The finish is long and refreshing, featuring a raisin-like quality and a lingering, elegant fragrance. It is bottled at 52% alcohol content.
