Wine Description
Château de Beaucastel's 2022 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Vieilles Vignes is a white wine made from 100% Roussanne grapes sourced from very old vines. This wine is certified organic. The wine presents a deep, intense golden colour. On the nose, it is powerful and complex, with aromatic notes of honey, ripe fruit, apricots, peaches, and brioche. The palate is dense, rich, and silky, with flavours of beeswax, citrus, and sun-ripened fruit. It has a great balance and a silky texture, with a refreshing acidity that keeps it from being heavy, leading to a long and luxurious finish with hints of wood spice and honey. The recommended drinking window is within the first three years of bottling or after 15 years.

Food Pairing
This wine pairs beautifully with richly flavoured dishes. Suggested pairings include roasted poultry with a creamy mushroom sauce, lobster in butter sauce, truffle-infused dishes, foie gras, and aged cheeses like Comté or Beaufort. A perfect match to enhance the wine's complexity.
Vintage Quality
The 2022 vintage experienced a series of contrasting climatic conditions, including a mild and very dry winter and spring, which helped maintain the excellent health of the vines. The summer was hot and sunny, but timely rainfall in mid-August allowed the grapes to continue ripening slowly. The initial tastings of the red wines from this vintage suggest they are particularly balanced. The white wines, in particular, flourished in this exceptional terroir.
