Product description
Hailing from the storied hills of Tuscany, Italy, this wine is a prestigious selection from the Montalcino region, specifically the Sant'Angelo in Colle subregion. The Talenti estate was founded in the 1950s by Pierluigi Talenti, a pioneer who dedicated his life to researching Sangiovese clones and elevating the quality of the appellation. Today, under the guidance of Pierluigi’s grandson, Riccardo Talenti, the winery maintains a 'modern traditionalist' philosophy, blending historical respect for the terroir with meticulous modern cellar techniques.
Wine Description
This mature Riserva showcases a deep garnet to brick-red colour with a concentrated and complex sensory profile. The bouquet is intense and evolving, offering a symphony of stewed sour cherries, plums, and dried orange peel, underscored by savory layers of leather, game, and forest undergrowth. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and powerful, yet the once-assertive tannins have become silky and well-integrated over decades of aging. It reveals a rich depth with notes of sweet spices, vanilla, and a touch of balsamic, supported by a persistent acidity that provides remarkable freshness. Crafted from a rigorous selection of 100% Sangiovese from the 'Vigna del Paretaio' vineyard, this wine has reached its optimal drinking window, showing beautiful maturity while retaining enough structure to be enjoyed through 2028.
