Product description
Introduction
This elegant red wine hails from France, specifically the Pessac Leognan subregion within the broader Graves area of Bordeaux. The estate was founded in 1783 by Philippe Trigant, an illustrious lawyer at the Bordeaux parliament, who built both the château and the original vineyards. Since 1860, the property has been under the stewardship of the Sèze family, who have managed the estate for eight generations. This boutique estate spans approximately 3.5 hectares of deep gravel and sandy soil, where the family follows a winemaking philosophy that prioritizes technical modernization while remaining faithful to the classic spirit of the appellation.
Wine Description
In the glass, the 2019 Chateau Trigant displays a brilliant dark red colour. The nose is flattering and aromatic, offering a complex bouquet of red berries, cassis, and blueberry, layered with classic notes of tobacco, leather, and vanilla. On the palate, the wine is full bodied and concentrated, showcasing a 'summer fruit' mix of blackberry and dark cherry.
The varietal composition for the 2019 vintage is 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot. Stylistically, it is characterized by its finesse and velvety tannins, with a notable freshness and tension that balances its incredible richness. The finish is persistent, often revealing distinct empyreumatic notes of coffee and toasted cashew.
