Introduction

This exceptional red wine originates from the United States, specifically the Sonoma County region of California. Ridge Vineyards was founded in 1962 by four engineers from the Stanford Research Institute, and it has since become world-renowned under the long-standing guidance of winemaker Paul Draper. While the winery is famous for its single-vineyard focus, Three Valleys is a unique exception, crafted as a master blend from several distinct Sonoma vineyards to represent the finest of the region's diverse terroir.

Wine Description

The 2022 Three Valleys is a vibrant red blend composed of 65% Zinfandel, 16% Carignane, 14% Petite Sirah, and 5% Mataro. In the glass, it reveals a deep ruby to garnet red colour. The nose is complex and inviting, featuring aromas of blackberry, anise, and espresso, accented by fresh mint, exotic spices, and earthy minerals. On the palate, the wine is medium to full bodied with a supple texture and bright acidity. Flavours of ripe raspberry, cherry, and plum mingle with notes of dark chocolate, baking spice, and black licorice. The finish is long and spicy, supported by firm but integrated tannins. Enjoyable upon release, this wine will continue to develop over the next five years.
