Product description
From New Zealand’s renowned Marlborough region, the Seventeen Valley Pinot Noir is produced by Mount Riley Wines, a family-owned winery led by the Barker family. Mount Riley is recognised for combining tradition with innovation, producing wines that highlight the purity and vibrancy of Marlborough fruit. The Seventeen Valley bottling is crafted only in exceptional vintages, representing the estate’s pinnacle expression of Pinot Noir.
Wine Description
This Pinot Noir displays a deep crimson hue with a translucent edge. The nose is perfumed with ripe red fruits such as strawberries, cherries, and pomegranate, layered with hints of red licorice, sumac, and dried herbs. On the palate, it offers plush fruit concentration supported by fine, pliable tannins and bright acidity. Subtle French oak ageing adds smoky notes, spice, and structure without overwhelming the fruit. Medium-bodied yet powerful, it strikes a balance between freshness and complexity, finishing long and silky.
Food Pairing
Ideal with game dishes such as duck breast, venison, or wild mushroom risotto. It also complements roasted lamb, charcuterie, or earthy vegetable dishes. This pairing highlights the wine’s depth and character.
