Alain Gueneau Sancerre La Guiberte is a white wine produced in the Sancerre appellation of the Loire Valley, France. The family owned and operated domaine is located in Sury en Vaux, where winemaker Alain Gueneau manages the 16 hectare estate alongside his daughter, Elisa. Their winemaking philosophy is dedicated to sustainable viticulture and preserving the unique terroir of their sloping vineyards, which are primarily composed of 'terres blanches' (calcareous clay) and stony 'caillottes' soils.
Wine Description
This wine displays a pale yellow hue with greenish reflections and excellent clarity. The sensory profile is elegant and precise, featuring delicate aromas of white peach, elderflower, and fresh herbs, such as nettle and menthol, followed by a hint of flinty minerality. On the palate, it is light to medium bodied and dry, offering refined flavours of sweet citrus, lemon, and grapefruit with a fleshy stone fruit core. The structure is defined by a moderate to sheer acidity that balances its ripeness, leading to a long, elegant finish with subtle notes of blanched almonds and lemon rind.
