Alois Lageder Bianco Cason 2021

This rare and "avant-garde" white wine originates from Italy, specifically from the Casòn Hirschprunn estate in Magrè, within the Alto Adige region. While Alois Lageder is famous for its classic Pinot Bianco, the "Casòn" label represents the estate's top-tier "Crus" and experimental range. The winery's philosophy here is to push the boundaries of the terroir, creating a white wine with the structure and longevity typically reserved for grand reds.

Wine Description

Alois Lageder "Casòn" Bianco presents a brilliant straw-yellow color with greenish reflections. The sensory profile is rich and "baroque," featuring a complex bouquet of ripe peach, quince, and mango, layered with sophisticated notes of roasted almonds, sweet vanilla, and a hint of exotic spices. On the palate, the wine is strong, full-bodied, and "gentle," showcasing a harmonious balance between its creamy texture and a digestible, fresh acidity. It is characterized by its significant saltiness and a very long-lasting finish. This wine reached an ABV of 13% and underwent a rigorous vinification: spontaneous fermentation in barriques (1/3 new French oak), followed by 11 months of aging on the fine lees and further refinement in large wooden casks.
