Product description

Introduction

Alvear Red Vermouth (Vermouth Rojo) is a traditional artisanal aromatized wine produced in the Montilla-Moriles region of Andalusia, Spain. It is crafted by Bodegas Alvear, a historic estate founded in 1729, which holds the distinction of being the oldest winery in the region. Famous for their mastery of the Pedro Ximénez grape, the family-owned distillery uses a base of their aged Oloroso wine, blended with Pedro Ximénez sweet wine, to create this distinctively Andalusian aperitif.

Spirit Description

This vermouth displays a deep, dark cherry red colour with mahogany highlights. The nose is intense and complex, leading with the rich, raisin-like aromas of Pedro Ximénez grapes, layered with notes of cinnamon, balsamic herbs, and citrus peel. On the palate, it offers a creamy, velvety texture where flavors of dried figs, toasted nuts, and sweet spices are perfectly balanced by a sophisticated herbal bitterness. The finish is long and elegant, leaving a lingering impression of caramelized sugar, rosemary, and bitter orange. It is bottled at 15% ABV.
