Product description

Introduction

Antonio Caggiano Fiano di Avellino 'Bechar' is a white wine produced in the Irpinia subregion of Campania, Italy. The winery was founded in 1990 by Antonio Caggiano, a passionate photographer who returned to his family's vineyards in Taurasi after travelling the world. The estate's winemaking philosophy focuses on the preservation of indigenous varieties, and the winery is now managed by Antonio's son, Giuseppe (known as Pino), who continues the family tradition of producing wines that reflect the unique volcanic terroir of the province of Avellino.

Wine Description

This wine exhibits an intense golden yellow colour with lively reflections. The sensory profile is complex and generous, featuring a bouquet of white peach, fresh apricot, and orange oil, accented by floral notes of white flowers and chamomile. On the palate, it is full bodied and well balanced, showing a rich texture with flavours of tropical fruit, honey, and toasted hazelnut. The structure is defined by a refreshing acidity and a savory, saline minerality that leads to a long finish with a characteristic hint of bitter almond. Crafted from 100% Fiano grapes sourced from vineyards in Lapio situated 400 metres above sea level, the wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks at low temperatures to preserve its aromatic purity.
