Product description

This structured and 'aristocratic' red wine originates from Italy, within the world-renowned Brunello di Montalcino D.O.C.G. appellation situated in southern Tuscany. Argiano is one of Montalcino’s most revered and historic estates, with origins dating back to 1580. Operating under a precision-driven viticultural philosophy led by CEO Bernardino Sani and consulting oenologist Alberto Antonini, the estate has undergone an organic conversion and a soil-mapping revolution that highlights distinct micro-terroirs across its 57 hectares of vineyards. Situated on a magnificent plateau at 300 meters above sea level in the southwest quadrant of Montalcino, the vines are rooted in ancient marl, limestone, and clay soils (galestro and alberese). The estate enjoys warm, Mediterranean-influenced daylight tempered by cooling night breezes off the nearby Mount Amiata and Tyrrhenian Sea, yielding Sangiovese of extraordinary structural finesse, aromatic lift, and longevity.

Wine Description

Argiano Brunello di Montalcino presents a brilliant, ruby-garnet color in the glass with light orange-terracotta reflections along the rim. Its sensory profile is exceptionally fresh, high-toned, and complex, delivering a quintessential expression of southwest Montalcino terroir. The bouquet opens with a captivating display of wild sour cherries, red plums, and crushed dried cranberries, seamlessly layered with complex underlays of sweet tobacco leaf, leather, dried lavender, crushed chalk, and a signature Tuscan note of wild rosemary and forest floor. On the palate, the wine is medium-to-full-bodied, taut, and precisely focused, showcasing a core of bright red stone fruits, blood orange zest, and licorice. It is characterized by its outstanding inner energy and an incisive, mouthwatering backbone of natural acidity that effortlessly elevates its mid-palate density. The mouthfeel is broad, weightless, and linear, framed by silky, fine-grained, and chalky tannins that glide into a long, dry, and savory finish accented by lingering notes of iron, spice, and dried Mediterranean herbs.
