Product description
Avion Reserva Cristalino Tequila is an ultra-premium, aged Mexican spirit produced in the Highlands (Los Altos) of Jalisco, Mexico. The brand was founded in 2010 by Ken Austin (notably featured in HBO's Entourage) and acquired by spirits giant Pernod Ricard in 2018. Crafted at the Productos Finos de Agave distillery (NOM 1416) in Jesús María under the direction of Master Distiller Alejandro Lopez, this expression represents the pinnacle of Avion's barrel-aging and filtration techniques.
Spirit Description
Avion Reserva Cristalino is created by taking hand-harvested 100% Blue Weber Agave grown at high elevations (over 7,000 feet) and slow-roasting the piñas in traditional brick ovens for 72 hours. After double-distillation, the master blender constructs a base using fine Añejo tequila aged for 12 months in American oak barrels, elevated with a subtle touch of long-aged Extra Añejo. The aged dark spirit then undergoes a proprietary double-charcoal filtration process that strips away the amber color while preserving the oak-derived complexity and silky body.
Colour: Perfectly crystal clear, brilliant, and transparent.
Aroma: Complex and inviting, opening with warm oak wood, vanilla, milk chocolate, and sweet cinnamon, complemented by underlying mineral notes, lime zest, and cooked agave.
Palate: Creamy, smooth, and texturized. Upfront flavors of honeyed agave, butterscotch, and brown sugar blend into chocolate, warm cinnamon spice, and a peppery oak backbone.
Body: Medium-to-full-bodied with a round, silky, and velvety mouthfeel.
Finish: Crisp, dry, and exceptionally smooth, leaving a trailing warmth of sweet oak, cinnamon, and black pepper.
ABV: Bottled at 40% (80 Proof).
