This fresh and elegant white wine originates from the Gavi DOCG in the Piedmont region of Northwest Italy. Produced by the renowned Castello Banfi, this bottling is a tribute to local legend: Principessa Gavia, the daughter of a 6th-century Frankish king, who allegedly fled to the village of Gavi to marry her forbidden love. The winery’s philosophy for this label is to showcase the "eminent drinkability" and crisp, mineral character of the Cortese grape, which has been grown in the area since the 11th century.

The Banfi Principessa Gavia Gavi presents a pale yellow colour with delicate green reflections. The sensory profile is light and breezy, featuring an aromatic nose of green apple, melon, and white peach, layered with sophisticated floral notes of jasmine and boxwood. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied and sleek, showcasing a "pleasant sapidity" (savory minerality) balanced by juicy acidity. It is characterized by its refreshing and clean fragrance, leading to a dry, harmonious finish with a touch of citrus rind. This 100% Cortese has an ABV of 12.5% and was fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks (16–18°C) to preserve its pure fruit identity and crispness.
