Product description
Bardstown Bourbon Company Goose Island Bourbon County Stout Finish is a premium expression from the distillery's celebrated Collaborative Series. Released in September 2023, it represents a partnership between the modern Bardstown Bourbon Company in Kentucky and the legendary Chicago-based Goose Island Beer Company, known for creating the first bourbon barrel-aged stout. This limited-release bourbon is crafted by finishing a bespoke blend of Kentucky straight bourbons in freshly emptied Goose Island Bourbon County Stout barrels for an additional 12 months.
2. Spirit Description
The bourbon is a complex blend of 6, 7, and 9-year-old Kentucky straight bourbons, specifically selected to complement the dark, roasted characteristics of the stout barrels.
Colour: Deep amber with a rich, oily appearance.
Aroma: The nose leads with dark chocolate and honey, followed by toasted almond, vanilla cream, and a distinct layer of roasted grain. Deeper notes of caramel and cocoa emerge with subtle toasted oak.
Palate: The entry is rich with brown sugar and toffee, quickly giving way to dark chocolate, roasted malt, and cacao. Mid-palate coffee undertones appear alongside allspice, reflecting the deep influence of the stout barrel.
Body: It features a moderate heft and a lightly slick, enveloping body.
Finish: Long and warming, anchored by lingering roasted malt, oak spice, and echoes of coffee and chocolate that fade into a dry, malty close.
ABV: Bottled at 50% (100 proof).
