Product description

Originating from the United States in Oregon’s Willamette Valley, specifically within the prestigious Ribbon Ridge AVA, Beaux Freres Pinot Noir 'The Beaux Freres Vineyard' 2021 represents a benchmark expression of estate-grown Oregonian winemaking. Founded in 1988 by Michael Etzel and his brother-in-law, critic Robert Parker Jr., Beaux Freres is renowned for its early adoption of biodynamic farming and minimal intervention principles. The estate’s winemaking philosophy relies on un-grafted, high-density vineyard plantings, indigenous yeast fermentations, and meticulous French oak barrel aging to produce deep, site-specific Pinot Noirs of power, complexity, and age-worthy grace.

Wine Description

The wine presents a luminous, medium ruby garnet colour with subtle violet reflections in the glass. An expressive and multifaceted bouquet opens with vibrant aromas of dark raspberry, wild red plum, and black cherry, interwoven with alluring notes of forest floor, damp earth, crushed violet, pipe tobacco, and subtle exotic oak spice. On the palate, it is medium to full bodied, silky, and deeply layered, delivering concentrated flavours of black raspberry, pomegranate, and dark cocoa supported by a spine of lively, refreshing natural acidity. Framed by fine-grained, velvety tannins and an undercurrent of fine stone minerality, it concludes with a long, harmonious, and persistent finish. Composed of 100% Pinot Noir sourced entirely from the estate's original 1988 plantings on Willakenzie marine sedimentary soils, this release offers an optimal drinking window of 2024–2038. Stylistically, it effortlessly combines Oregonian fruit intensity and texture with classical Burgundian earthiness and structural elegance.

Food Pairing

Suggested pairings include pan-seared duck breast with cherry reduction, roasted rack of lamb, wild mushroom risotto, or cedar-plank grilled salmon. 'Together, they create an unforgettable dining experience.'
