This premium Pinotage originates from the Coastal Region of South Africa, specifically sourced from unirrigated bush vines in Stellenbosch (66%) and Darling (34%). The Bellingham story began in 1693, but it was the visionary "maverick" Bernard Podlashuk and his wife Fredagh who pioneered the estate's modern renaissance after purchasing the farm in 1943. Today, the winery remains a steward of innovation, focusing on minimal intervention to produce contemporary, structured wines that offer a clear expression of their unique terroir.
Wine Description
The wine presents a deep ruby colour and an elegant sensory profile that highlights the red fruit character of its parent varieties, Pinot Noir and Cinsault. The nose is layered with aromas of bright cherry, plum, and raspberry, complemented by subtle notes of dark chocolate, spice, and an earthy minerality. On the palate, the wine offers a perfect balance of richness and vibrancy, featuring flavours of mulberry and black cherry supported by fine, silky tannins and well-integrated oak.
