Benromach 15 Year Old

Benromach 15 Year Old single malt Scotch whisky originates from the town of Forres within the western bounds of the world renowned Speyside region of Scotland. The distillery is owned and operated by the historic independent bottler Gordon & MacPhail, who purchased and meticulously revived the site in 1993 with a vision to bring back a lost style of whisky. Moving away from the contemporary trends of modern Speyside, the winemakers and distillers deliberately recreate the lightly peated, earthy character that defined the region's classic malts prior to the 1960s.

This expression pours a beautiful, natural dark amber colour, a direct visual testament to its extended interaction with quality oak. The nose offers a dense, wonderfully complex bouquet where sweet toffee and caramel seamlessly intertwine with rich forest fruits, baked cherry tart, and dried banana, all grounded by a distinct thread of cracked black pepper and soft barbecue smoke. On the palate, the mouthfeel is creamy and beautifully rounded, delivering an initial sweetness of ripe apples, stewed plums, and honeyed fudge before evolving into darker notes of orange peel, charred oak, and toasted malt.
