Product description
This single malt scotch whisky originates from Scotland, produced in the Speyside region. The Craigellachie Distillery was founded in 1891 by Peter Mackie and Alexander Edward, and it is currently owned by Dewar's, a subsidiary of Bacardi. Famous for its traditional copper worm tub condensers, the distillery is renowned for producing a uniquely robust, heavy, and characterful malt spirit. Independent bottler Berry Bros & Rudd selected this expression from cask reference 2949, aged for ten years in a refill butt.
Spirit Description
This expression presents a warm amber gold colour in the glass. The aroma opens with fragrant notes of dried barley, warm hay, and fresh shortbread, which slowly evolve into subtle Oloroso sherry undertones, soft caramel, and a delicate trace of smoke. On the palate, it delivers a full body with an exceptionally rich and waxy texture, offering flavours of juicy barley candy, caramelized pineapple, citrus, dried fruit, and toasted almonds balanced by cinnamon and white pepper. The finish is long, warm, and lingering, carrying accents of wood spice, charcoal, and sweet malt. With an ABV of 54.3%, this cask strength malt exhibits impressive depth, complexity, and spirit balance.
